About Me

Hi, I'm Lauren, I run Foxglove and Moss from my studio in Blakeney, Forest of Dean. My business started in September 2021, although by that point I had already been a florist for 7 years.

 

I've been into arts and crafts from a young age and knew that one day I wanted to have a creative job. After school and college I applied to do a floristry course and was accepted for an interview, but later told there wasn't enough people to keep the course running and that floristry was a dying art (which just isn't true!). I went on to complete a degree in Illustration but afterwards still knew I really wanted to become a florist. I was lucky enough to find a flower shop locally who were willing to take me on to

begin an apprenticeship and I fell in love instantly!

 

Early on in my training I was advised that if I ever wanted to start my own business I should work in lots of different places... I went on to work full time in 5 different shops in Ross-on-Wye, Hereford, Gloucester, the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean, as well as doing freelance work. I also entered a few competitions in the early days and in 2016 I won a bronze medal at Chelsea Flower Show.

I'm now lucky enough to be following my dreams and running my own floristry business!
